Wine a Little: You Deserve a New Wine Room

keeping your wine cellar cool

Sometimes just one luxurious touch makes a big difference. Something that turns your home into your castle. How about letting Climate Control Company build a wine room or wine cellar in your home?

The key to wine storage is maintaining proper temperature and humidity levels. Climate Control has several options—whether it’s in new construction or a remodeling project.

It’s important to know a wine room system is much more than just having an air-conditioned room. Instead it is specifically designed to keep your wine room at a stable temperature (55° is generally considered ideal) and humidity (70% to keep the cork from drying) especially here in the mountains.

We feature the following manufacturers as our wine room partners:

  • Wine Guardian
  • Tecumseh
  • Copeland
  • Magic Aire
  • Bohn

There are 3 types of designs used for wine cellars or wine rooms:

  • THROUGH THE WALL: In layman’s terms compare it to a window air conditioner. It’s mounted in the wall of your wine room and vented to a room on the other side of the wall.

  • SPLIT SYSTEM: Compare this to a mini-split heat pump. There is an air handler on the wall of your wine room and it’s connected to a condenser outside the room.

  • SELF-CONTAINED: This is usually for larger wine cellars of 500 to 5,000 square feet. The easiest way to describe this is a separate central system with its own ductwork delivering the conditioned air to the cellar. This system usually requires a water supply and water drain.

Speaking of luxury, make sure your new home includes radiant floor heating. Is there anything more luxurious than planting those tootsies on the warm floor during a cold Colorado morning?

Heating elements are installed in your floor during construction. They can be electric or hydronic, meaning they are filled with heated liquid. Instead of blowing heated air around your home, the heat radiates from the floor and warms the entire room.

If your idea of luxury is avoiding back-breaking work, then let Climate Control install radiant heating elements under your driveway to create a snow-melt system. Just like that, no snow to shovelo ice to cause a slip and fall. Climate Control features radiant systems from Lochinvaravian for homes and businesses.

You deserve to have a little luxury in your life. Call us to find out just how easy and affordable it can be with customized comfort. FYI: after the wine room is done, a glass of Pinot would be nice… no, make that a Cabernet… on second thought a Merlot… oh, Zinfandel is always tasty… never mind. You decide!
